Ancient Rome, circa 337 to 361 AD. A nice hoard of 60 small Roman bronze coins, mostly of emperor Constantius II (337-361 AD). The Constantius II coins bear the diademed portrait of the emperor on one side, with Latin inscription DN CONSTANTIVS PF AVG around / The backs are all of basically the same ÒVOTAÓ type, with Latin inscription ÒVOT XX MVLT XXXÓ or similar within a wreath. Early "Propaganda" coins: "I vowed to you ten years, now give me thirty moreÒ! Average size about 12 mm, the coins are uncleaned and as-found with olive green patina and heavy earthen and mineral deposits, some with very nice detail. ex-Marc Breitsprecher, Classical Numismatist.Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance. --Weight:3.3 oz
